Grundelwald belongs to the canton Berne, elevation 1,034 m (3,392 ft) and is the door to some of the most famous mountains in the world. Climbers of allover the world using Grindelwald as a base camp.
The rack railway was built to Kleine Scheidegg in 1893, and it was expanded to the Jungfraujoch in 1912.
